Position Overview
We are seeking a results-oriented Pharma Business Development Manager to spearhead the launch and growth of our generic product portfolio. This role requires a strategic leader who can develop market entry strategies, collaborate with medical distributors, and liaise with contract manufacturers across India to source quality products at optimal prices. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing field sales teams and delivering aggressive sales growth within Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development:
- Identify and exploit opportunities to introduce our generic product portfolio to key markets.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for capturing market share in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and other regions.
- Build a robust pipeline of potential clients, including stockists, chemists, distributors, and healthcare providers.
Market Penetration & Network Building:
- Collaborate with medical distributors to build an extensive network for promoting fast-moving consumables imported from overseas.
- Organize and lead field visits, networking events, and digital outreach initiatives to generate high-quality leads.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the pharma supply chain.
Manufacturer & Vendor Coordination:
- Liaise with contract manufacturers nationally, with a focus on northern India, to ensure the production of the right products at competitive costs.
- Negotiate favourable terms and ensure timely production and delivery, maintaining optimal cost structures.
Team Leadership & Sales Execution:
- Lead a team of field sales representatives to achieve and surpass aggressive sales targets.
- Develop and monitor performance metrics, providing regular updates and strategic insights to senior management.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on results and continuous improvement.
Market Research & Product Strategy:
- Conduct in-depth market research to understand demand trends, competitor strategies, and pricing dynamics.
- Offer strategic recommendations for product enhancements and marketing initiatives based on market insights.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all activities adhere to regulatory standards and internal compliance guidelines.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, client interactions, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Life Sciences, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years in pharmaceutical sales or marketing, specifically within the generic medicine sector.
- Proven track record in business development and market expansion within the pharma industry.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of the pharma supply chain, generic product development, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with medical distributors and contract manufacturers.
